Dr. Khaleel was raised outside of a small town in northern Minnesota where, in addition to the indoor dogs and cats, there were horses, chickens, pigs, and a small herd of dairy goats.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Khaleel lived in Seattle teaching ESL and working in a small animal and exotic practice. She attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary medicine and worked at hospitals in Minnesota and San Diego. Before joining the AVC team, she owned a practice in San Diego County for many years.
Dr. Khaleel and her husband are active supporters of a veterinary clinic and rescue organization in Bangladesh, working to educate the local population in animal welfare, and providing veterinary work for the community. In her spare time, Dr. Khaleel enjoys music, hiking, traveling, and learning new skills of all kinds.
